Holly was wed three times. Her first marriage was with actress Danny Quinn. The couple was married in 1991 and separated in 1993. In 1994, she met Jim Carrey during auditions for Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. The actor did not offer her the part, but they developed a friendship as they worked together on the production of Dumb and Dumber. They got married in the year 1996. Their marriage was less than one year before they separated in 2001, she married Francis Greco, a Canadian-born investor banker.The couple adopted three sons: Henry, George, and Alexander Holly-Greco. After she got married to Greco in 2007, she gained Canadian citizenship. The couple split in 2014. Holly and her father Grant and their families live with Holly at Oakville (Ontario, Canada) as do three of her children. Holly, Grant and their respective families created their own A Fund in 1992 at Hobart and William Smith Colleges to honor her brother Alexander. Holly described him as a "boy full of dreams, plans and hopes". After Alexander passed away at the age of 14, He had traveled extensively all over Europe and Central America. He also resided at New York City as well as Los Angeles. This gave him a fascination with the archaeology of architecture as well as the past.

Alaina Suddeth Suddeth's parents are Kristy Suddeth, who hails from Rossville in Georgia and J. J. Suddeth. Alaina started singing when she was just three years old. As a member of a children's choir, and at an annual resort with karaoke, she performed her first time at public events. The singer performed at the restaurants, in churches, at events for families, and anywhere within 30 miles of her house. Alaina was just 8 years old when she was crowned the winner of the Southern Stars Pageant's talent competition. The next year she was chosen to perform on the Kids talent stage at Chattanooga's Riverbend Festival. She performed on that stage annually until age 12, when she won the competition which allowed her to appear on the main stage of the festival. At the age of ten She traveled to Orlando, Florida for the American Model and Talent Competition. The event was won by Alaina, who was able to beat over 1,500 kids. Alaina sang with the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association Children's Choir. At age 12, Alaina made her first of many visits to Nashville. The bar she performed in was local in Broadway including Tootsie's. Alaina, who is born on the 29th of September 1989, took home the WinniSTAR talent contest for the youngsters in Lake Winnepesaukah. Alaina found her inspiration to perform by observing Holly Witherow. Holly was sufering from a brain tumour. Prior to Idol, Alaina worked at CiC's Pizza. She went to Lakeview-FortOglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in which she played cheerleading.
