Anika Noni is an American actress and singer. Her most well-known role is her role as Tiana Disney's first African-American princess in The Princess and the Frog. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose appeared as Lorrell Robertson, the character in Dreamgirls and was awarded the Academy Award. Anika Noni rose (born on September 6, 1973) is an American performer and vocalist. Her most well-known role is as Tiana the first Disney African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). In 2011, she was honored as an Disney Legend. The actress is also famous for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson on the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006) and for her role as LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on the Starz show Power. She has also been recognized by her stage performances such as her starring role as Caroline or Change Caroline or Change (2004) on Broadway in which her Tony Award was won for Best actress in a the Musical.
